Can I add a ROTH IRA account to my existing setup?

Can I add an IRA account to use Vector algos?

Yes. You can add a Traditional, Roth, or Rollover IRA account to your existing setup and run Vector algos on it.

What to expect

  • The approval process takes longer than a standard brokerage account. IRAs at NinjaTrader Brokerage are held with a third-party custodian (Midland Trust), which adds steps to the application. Plan for several days minimum, and longer is common.
  • You can keep your current setup. An IRA account can be linked into the same NinjaTrader installation alongside any other accounts you already trade.
  • Same support flow. When the IRA is approved and funded, open a ticket at http://support.vectoralgorithmics.io/ and the team will help connect the new account and configure the strategies on it.

Technical requirements (per NinjaTrader Brokerage)

The current published requirements include: - Minimum funding to open the IRA (Midland custodian): around $250 - Minimum net liquidation value to trade futures in an IRA: $25,000 - Account types eligible for futures: Traditional, Roth, Rollover, SEP

These figures change occasionally — for the most current and account-specific details, check the NinjaTrader Brokerage IRA documentation or contact NinjaTrader's new accounts team directly. Questions about IRA-specific rules, custodian process, or required paperwork should go to the broker's support, not to Vector — they have the authoritative information.

A note on account structure (informational only)

Some clients choose to trade through a U.S. LLC instead of an IRA, depending on their state and personal tax situation. Each structure has different tax treatment, contribution limits, withdrawal rules, and reporting requirements. Vector does not provide tax or legal advice — if you're weighing IRA vs LLC vs personal account, consult a CPA or tax attorney familiar with your state and goals.
