How do I download and install strategy files from Whop?

Vector strategy files are distributed through the Vector directory on Whop. Once you have access to the directory (granted as part of active membership), downloading a file and getting it into NinjaTrader on your VPS is a two-step process: download and import.

This article assumes your maintenance is up to date and you have access to the Vector strategy directory on Whop.

Two ways to get the file onto your VPS

You can either download directly inside the VPS or download on your local computer and move the file across. Both work — pick whichever is easier for you.

Scenario A: Download directly inside the VPS (simpler)

1. Connect to your VPS via Remote Desktop.
2. Open a web browser inside the VPS (Chrome, Edge, etc.).
3. Go to the Vector strategy directory on Whop and sign into your Whop account from inside the VPS browser.
4. Click the download link for the strategy file you want. The file downloads to the VPS directly (typically to Downloads).
5. Proceed to the Import into NinjaTrader section below.

This is the simplest path because the file lands on the VPS and doesn't need to be moved anywhere.

Scenario B: Download on your local computer, then transfer to the VPS

Some clients prefer to download on their personal computer (faster, familiar environment). The catch is that NinjaTrader needs the file on the VPS, not on your local computer — so the file has to be moved across the Remote Desktop connection.

Step 1 — Download locally. Sign into Whop in your normal browser on your personal computer. Click the download link. The file lands in your local Downloads folder.

Step 2 — Transfer the file into the VPS. The easiest method is copy/paste over Remote Desktop, which works out of the box in most RDP clients:

1. On your local computer, locate the downloaded file. Right-click it → Copy (or select it and press Ctrl+C).
2. Switch to your Remote Desktop window (the VPS).
3. Inside the VPS, open the folder where you want the file (for example, the VPS Downloads folder or the Desktop).
4. Right-click inside that folder → Paste (or press Ctrl+V). The file transfers from your local computer into the VPS folder.

If copy/paste doesn't work, check that your RDP client has clipboard sharing enabled. In Windows' Remote Desktop Connection, this is under Show Options → Local Resources → Clipboard. Some RDP apps on Mac and Linux may need a similar setting toggled.

Alternative transfer methods (if copy/paste is unavailable):

• Upload the file to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive on your local computer, then download it inside the VPS browser.
• Map your local drives into the VPS through your RDP client's "Local Resources → Drives" option, then copy the file through the mapped drive.

Once the file is on the VPS, proceed to the Import into NinjaTrader section below.

Import into NinjaTrader

With the strategy file now sitting on the VPS:

1. Open NinjaTrader on the VPS.
2. Go to Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On.
3. Navigate to where the file is saved (e.g., Downloads) and select it.
4. NinjaTrader will import the strategy. Restart NinjaTrader afterward so the import is fully registered.

• Whop page shows no download button: confirm you're signed in to Whop with the account that has Vector access. Your maintenance needs to be current for the directory to be available.
