How do I set up my strategy on a funded prop account after passing the evaluation?

I just passed my prop firm evaluation — how do I get my strategy running on the funded account?

Congratulations on passing. The transition from an evaluation account to a funded account is straightforward on the Vector side. What changes is the account you're trading on, the contract sizing applied to the new balance, and — in some cases — which strategy is appropriate for the new account type.

What changes

  • New account credentials. The prop firm issues new credentials for the funded account (different from the evaluation). You'll receive these from the firm once activation is complete on their side.
  • Same connection type. If the firm routes through Rithmic, Tradovate, or another broker, the connection type is the same as your evaluation — only the account itself changes.
  • Sizing should match the funded account's size. Vector contract sizing guidelines apply based on the account balance you're trading (see: Contract Sizing). If your funded account size is different from your evaluation, the sizing needs to be adjusted.
  • Strategy selection may need to change. Not every strategy is appropriate for every account type. Some strategies are designed specifically for evaluation scenarios and are not intended for funded or cash accounts. It's your responsibility to select a strategy that fits the funded context — don't assume whatever was running on your eval simply carries over.

Vector's role for prop firm clients

Ongoing account-by-account setup and adjustments on funded accounts are handled by the client. You handle the configuration of the funded account in NinjaTrader — adding the account to your connections, opening the appropriate chart, applying the strategy with sizing that matches the funded balance, and enabling it.

If you want informational context to help inform your own decisions, you can open a ticket at http://support.vectoralgorithmics.io/ and ask about:

  • How individual strategies have been performing across the Vector deployment (the Results Spreadsheet is the canonical source — see: Where can I find performance results for Vector strategies?).
  • What the community has been using most in similar account types.
  • Where to find current settings references (Settings Spreadsheet).

This is shared as informational context, not as a personalized recommendation for your account. The specific strategy, sizing, and configuration choices on your funded account are decisions you make.

Outcomes on funded accounts are not guaranteed. Sizing, strategy choice, and adherence to the prop firm's rules are all factors you manage on your end.

On prop firm rules

Funded accounts typically have their own set of rules — drawdown type, daily loss limits, consistency rules, scaling plans, and so on. These rules are defined by your prop firm, not by Vector. Before you start trading the funded account, review your firm's funded account rulebook so you know what applies to you. Vector does not interpret prop firm rules — for anything rule-specific, go to the firm's official documentation or their support.
